Thanks to all who responded to our appeal below at the end of 2010. It's never too late to join in supporting the BAR-D. If you value CowboyPoetry.com and the programs of the Center for Western and Cowboy Poetry, please help keep then available with your support.

Friend of the BAR-D,

I don't often come out from "behind the scenes," but as the year
ends, I am again personally stepping forward to ask you directly for your
support.

CowboyPoetry.com had over one million visitors in 2010. You and other
members of our community came for the poetry, features, news, event
information, and more that celebrates our important heritage and the
vibrant culture of the West.

The non-profit Center for Western and Cowboy Poetry is determined to keep
CowboyPoetry.com and our other programs alive in the new year. But, it will
not be possible without your financial support.

In 2011, I hope the Center's programs can continue to bring you
CowboyPoetry.com, with its continual updates; April's tenth annual Cowboy
Poetry Week
; the sixth volume of The BAR-D Roundup; the year's Western
art poster
; and the important Rural Library Project, which provides the
annual CD and poster to libraries across the West.

Your tax-deductible year-end gift of $100, $40, $25—or whatever you can
afford—will make an important difference to the scope and reach of these
programs.

Information about thank-you gifts is here.

I am enormously grateful to those who already have made a contribution this
year. These are challenging economic times and many cannot do more. But if
you are able to contribute and have been meaning to give, please do not
postpone your contribution any longer.

You can donate by mail: CowboyPoetry.com, PO Box 330444, San Francisco,
CA 94133. Find a printable form here.

You can also donate with a secure, on-line credit card payment (a Paypal
account is not required) below.

I hope to be working along with you a twelfth year in a mission that I know
we share:  the preservation and celebration of the arts and life of rural
communities and the real working West.

Thank you for your commitment to our work and for being a part of it all.

With best wishes for the New Year,

Margo
