Books about Cowboy Poetry
The Western Poetry Writers' Association is headquartered in Kanab, Utah.
They meet regularly and hold events, including the annual Utah, Arizona, Nevada (& Neighbors) Cowboy Poetry Gathering & "Old Timers" Get Together, held in April in Kanab, Utah in April.
Mission Statement:
The Western Poetry Writers' Association will perpetuate our western heritage through poetry. We encourage original quality poetry which depicts cowboy, western and pastoral life in the rural west.
Goals:
We will encourage members to draw on their personal experiences. We will participate in the constructive critiquing of members' work to encourage a higher degree of writing and performing skill level. We will encourage strong story development with well written poetry. We will encourage youth participation.
Vision:
We look forward to interacting with other writing associations throughout our region and beyond. We believe cowboy and western poetry should be enjoyed by all family members, keeping in mind and being sensitive to our audience.
