Montana photographer and journalist Jeri Dobrowski shares vintage and contemporary photographs from a recent reunion of her pioneering family. She describes them:

In July 2010, my father's family celebrated one hundred years since homesteading in southeastern Montana. My grandfather, William Janssen, great-grandfather, John W. Janssen, and great uncle, Sam Janssen, departed Rockwell City, Iowa, in a rented homestead car in October 1910. They arrived in Miles City, Montana, via the Milwaukee Railroad, on 10/10/10.

We gathered at the Range Riders Museum in Miles City on July 3. On July 4, the celebration moved to my Uncle Lew's ranch at Coalwood, Montana. He and Aunt Helen and their son, Bob, and family are on the original homestead.

That's my cousin Jane and Uncle Lew hanging up the welcome sign from our last family reunion.
