One of the things Texas poet and writer Linda Kirkpatrick does is manage the Visitor Center at Garner State Park, on the Frio River in Uvalde County. She and her group Sunset Serenade (which includes Frank Roberts and Joe Wells) also perform there during the summer.
According to the official Garner State Park web site, "The park was acquired in 1934-36 and was named for John Nance Garner ("Cactus Jack") of Uvalde, who served as Vice President of the United States from 1933-41. The Civilian Conservation Corps made the park's original improvements."

South Dakota rancher, poet and writer Robert Dennis shares recent photos of moving the heifers home, taken at his neighbors' ranch and in the surrounding area of Marcus County. He describes the photos briefly:
Good cows and calves and lots of feed:
A hard push up out of the Sulphur Creek breaks. After this it was all pretty much down hill.
