LARRY GIBSON
Townsend, Montana
About Larry Gibson
Howdy Lord. I'd like to take a minute...just to talk a spell. Ain't nothin' I'm really askin' for. Things are goin' pretty well.
But I'm up here on this mountain, fixin' fence and huntin' strays and I just wanted to tell you thanks, for such a pretty day.
I've been stretchin' out bob-wire, splicin' holes and settin' posts. Thought I'd take a break and look around at this land I love the most.
Thanks for that cool breeze that's blowin'. Sure feels good there on my back. It's mighty sweaty work, a stretchin' out the wire's slack.
Thanks for givin' me this pony and the chance I have to ride. I ain't makin' too much money, but at least I ain't inside.
Saw an elk a few miles back, his horns a shinin' in the sun. An eagle flew over a while ago while I was getting' some work done.
From up here, I can look across twenty mile or more. I see that big blue sky, hear the whisperin' breeze, smell the sagebrush and the trees... Lord, how could I ask for anythin' more?
Well, I've taken up enough of your time and I've work still yet to do. There's wire down on the Big Pasture fence and some critters missin' too.
So I guess I'll just say "thanks" once more, get on my horse and ride.
Talkin' with you this little bit's made me feel right good inside.© 2002, Larry Gibson
