Heaven's Horse

Booger I said a prayer the other day
I asked the Lord if I could keep you,
but He said you couldn't stay.

You see cowboy angels need horses too,
and I reckon good ones are hard to find,
But God promised he would take good care of you,
and that eased my worried mind.

The idea of you being gone brings a tear to my eye,
but I know you are better off grazing in red clover belly high.

I still wear the buckle that you and me won,
and without your help it couldn't have been done.

I know you will do the best you can do
and you will make a fine mount for God's buckaroos.

Happy trails until we meet again,  I
I'll say goodbye for now, to you my old friend.
