About Waynetta Ausmus
A Texan for 30 years and a Oklahoman by birth, Waynetta hails from Bartlesville in Osage country, where her Native American grandmother taught her to love and respect all living things. Since childhood the horse has been her favorite animal, for its beauty and its spirit.
Waynetta and her husband Marvin live on "The Lucky Me Ranch," which is home to a variety of 'critters.' When not on the road, you will find Waynetta either in her studio recording a show, working on her new book or outside with the llama's, horses, Longhorn cattle, dogs, cats, goats and birds. The "Lucky Me" is a family operation and her daughter Eryn runs the Llama business for her mom, showing and marketing the llamas.
Waynetta is a accomplished Storyteller and has performed around at gatherings around the country. She also gives Storytelling workshops. Waynetta earned her B.A. from Oklahoma Baptist University and her M.Ed from Texas A & M Commerce. For 20 years, she was a positive influence on the lives of thousands of elementary students, as a teacher and a principal.
