Books about Cowboy Poetry
The weekly Cowboy Culture Corner radio show, with hosts Dallas and PJ McCord, plays Western and cowboy music, cowboy poetry, and some bluegrass gospel. The show airs Sundays from 1 PM to 4 PM (Pacific) on KNND 1400AM in Cottage Grove, Oregon.
Each week the show features a poet, musician, or group. They also feature the music and poetry of area performers. They say, "Our goals are to play an average of 40 songs and poems every week, bring cowboy music and poetry to the masses, and raise money for the local area schools for their music departments."
In June, 2007, Dallas and PJ McCord gave two $2,000.00 scholarships for two students headed to music programs in higher education. The money was raised by selling tickets for the Emerald Valley Opry (a monthly show that hosts an average of 500 fans for each show; all the money raised goes to the Bethel School District).
Dallas and PJ McCord also organize the annual Coast Fork Cowboy Festival in Creswell, Oregon. Proceeds from the festival are donated to their local schools, and most recently, The Coast Fork Cowboy Festival gave $2,000.00 to the Creswell School District.
Dallas and PJ McCord welcome submissions for consideration for airplay:
