A new Wyoming radio program, "Comfort Food," featured Leslie Keltner and her poetry on September 17, 2005 and Hubb Witt "and his gang" on September 24, 2005.  Here's the show's initial media release:

TAKE A BITE OUT OF THE RADIO!

"Comfort Food, Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes for your mind", with these opening word's Wyoming's only radio variety show will begin.  Alamo Ranch Productions LLC is proud to announce its first production will begin airing on September 17th live from the Governor's Room at the world famous Irma Hotel. "Comfort Food" will be broadcast on KODI AM and KZMQ AM Saturday mornings 9am to 10am before a live audience.  "'Comfort Food' is one of maybe 5 shows of its kind in the country", says Alamo Ranch Productions' president and show host Christopher Turner.  "I have always wanted to host a radio show that encompasses the fun and variety of old time radio in front of a live audience."  "With 'Comfort Food' I will be able to mix live music, comedy sketches and the community into a single hour." "I have the best job in the world" says Turner.

"'Comfort Food' is a very ambitious project for such a small company" Turner says. "I am the President, chief writer, producer, director, sales manager, promoter, editor and janitor.  But with all those titles I still could not do this alone.  The staff of the Big Horn Radio Network has been incredibly kind and helpful to me. Without them I would just be home talking to myself." "I have very big plans for the show.  We will have live music every week, cowgirl/cowboy poets, actors, performers, anyone who strikes me as talented I am going to make a spot for in my show. We will also have a live version of 'The Pulse' newspaper on the show. Anyone in our listening area will able to tune in and get a live update on what is going on in our area. I believe this will become one of the most anticipated spots on the show. I am especially excited about the high schools involvement in the show.  We want to air a news broadcast put together by local high schools. This will give the kids a chance to do real broadcasting, something most high school students never get a chance to do.  I also want to involve our very talented school musicians and singers and give them the chance to perform to a huge audience."

Alamo Ranch Productions LLC is the creation of Christopher Turner, a former television journalist with 21 years experience at CNN.  Turner began with the network when it was in its infancy in 1980 and literally grew up with the new organization.  During his years at CNN he traveled to 27 countries, covered 5 wars, 2 presidential elections, 4 political conventions and won both the prestigious Peabody Award for Broadcast Journalism and a National Emmy Award. During his years at CNN Turner was based in Atlanta, Washington D.C., New York City, Rome, Dhahran Saudi Arabia, Dubai United Arab Emirates and Kuwait City. After retiring from CNN in 2001, Turner took care of his ailing father, Ed Turner a former CNN Executive Vice President. After his father's death, Christopher chose to move to Cody Wyoming because, "I knew it was my home the moment I arrived, I had no doubts". 8 months after moving to Clark, Wyoming, he married his Georgian sweetheart Rene. She and daughter Kate moved to Clark and were later joined by stepson Will.

"I have so many plans for the show," Turner says. "We are planning web casting the show, making it available to ipod-casts and anything else I can think of." "The people of the Big Horn Basin are incredibly talented and I want everyone to know it."

Listen to "Comfort Food" and take a bite out of the radio.
